Doggy Day Care at the Willows
![]()
It’s been another busy year at Doggy Daycare at The Willows! As we approach our first year of running our second site at Dunton Bassett, we have welcomed lots of new dogs to our centres. Sadly, we’ve also had to say goodbye to a few of our four-legged friends along the way, and our team will miss every single one. Let’s find out what we’ve been up to in 2025.
This year, we welcomed lots of wonderful new clients and their dogs, and we’ve helped even more dogs enjoy their days in a fun, safe, and stimulating environment. However, it’s always a sad occasion when we lose any of our beloved pooches and it’s time for them to cross the rainbow bridge. Every one of our dogs holds an important place in our hearts.
Our First Birthday – Doggy Daycare at The Willows, Dunton Bassett
It’s nearly a year since we opened our second doggy daycare centre in Dunton Bassett on 1st January 2025 and it’s been a great success! This second site enabled us to expand our services across the county with the same high-quality doggy care as our Elmesthorpe site.
At our Dunton Bassett site, we welcomed Kelsey to our team, who moved over when the previous owners, Nicky and Simon, retired. We’ve also welcomed lots of lovely new dogs, and we have loved getting to know all of the existing customers and dogs too.
New Team Members and Dog Training
In 2025, we extended our doggy daycare team yet again! This year, we welcomed Sophie who is doing an apprenticeship with us. Many of our team are currently studying different courses, from Animal Care and Management Level 2 and 3 to Canine Care and Welfare courses. We also have two members of our team who are training to be dog groomers.
Our Owner, Lisette Sampey, has also been working hard to complete various courses with the Institute of Modern Day Dog Trainers. Lisette hopes to complete her practical dog trainers’ course early next year, so she can become a member of the Institute.
More Dog Groomers
Our popular onsite dog grooming services have expanded! Please welcome Sophie, who is Level 2 and 3 qualified, and Alexa, who is currently studying at Brooksby College for her Level 2 qualification. Sophie and Alexa join our two existing team members who split their roles between grooming and daycare and are training for their Level 2 qualifications.
We are proud to have taken on lots of new grooming customers this year and have received great feedback from everyone. Why not pamper your pooch by visiting our salon, so they can look their best for Christmas?
Festive Fundraising Fun
Over the coming festive period, we will be sharing various activities to raise money for East Midlands Dog Rescue, which is an important cause close to our hearts. Last year, we raised a total of £460 to support the vital rehoming work carried out by this charity. From festive doggy photos to Christmas jumper day, keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on our fundraising activities!
Doggy Daycare at the Willows will be closing over Christmas to give our team a well-deserved break. Thank you to all our customers for being part of our journey so far. Here’s to even more successes and adventures of the furry kind in the year ahead!
